A New Red Roof!

Maybe I should call my place "The Red Roof Inn"! My new roof was put in yesterday, it's Owen's Corning (the Pink Panther company) Terra Cotta. Cats went through the roof when they heard all the noise!

The old roof, kind of a yucky brownish tan.

The new red terra cotta roof!

Makes the front door really pop! And blends in with the rest of the house.

Also got my porch swing up, surrounded by a few choice pots.

Fritz and Smokey lounging on the back porch, checking things out.

The practically dead rose bush is in bloom. Summer is definitely here!

Until next time,

  1. That is a lovely new roof. I think your cat's friends love the new roof. It can certainly be a good place for them to lounge around and hangout. LOL! Your feline friends are such cutie pies! Hehe!

  2. That red roof is awesome! I love the picture of the roof against the stark white walls of the neighboring house because it shows just how rich the red is. That picture of the new red roof matching with the red front door is really great too. I love how the new roof complements the bricks of the walls. Way to go!

  3. You’re right! The old roof looks very rustic, and the walls don’t look good with it at all. Anyway, you have picked a good color combo! The refurbished house looks very modern! What are the latest improvements now? Update us! =)

  4. Oh wow, that is a LOT of red! Other people have a “red room” in their house, but you’ve gone the extra mile and now have a red HOUSE! I think that red roof is quite gorgeous actually. It does go with all the red you’ve already got on the house. I think it’d be pretty cool to live in a house that looks like this, just to hear the kids (and maybe even tourists!) on the street talk about that “Red House.”

  5. I hope you don’t mind if I echo all the compliments about all the red! I think it would be great if you were able to maintain everything for a very, very long time, from the roof down to the yard. Maybe, even after you move out, the next occupants could choose to not change anything and just maintain all the red. Your house could become really iconic over the years!

  6. Your red roof is very pretty! Terra cotta is a very unique roofing material to go with. Why did you choose it? Most people I know who chose it do so because it is affordable and able to withstand drastic weather for a long time.

  7. That is certainly a bright red roof! It was very timely that you installed it prior to the summer season. It’s warm and lively, just like the atmosphere that the summer season gives! I can just imagine how it stood out in your neighborhood. Great job!
